We visited Iberia in December 2023, but I’m only writing this in summer 2025, so my memory is a little hazy.
Back again on Caledonian Road for another international food adventure (not far from Azeri Land of Fire and Ethiopian Agelgil). We visited the curiously-named Iberia with my girlfriend.
So, what’s Georgian food like? Quite similar to the Azeri stuff down the road. We had some fab and juicy dumplings, some grilled meat and pork with bread. It was all very nice, if somewhat rustic. It’s that thing we’ve noticed before – many countries’ cuisines are basically bits of grilled meat.
As I understand, Georgia claims to be the place where they invented wine, so we had to have a glass of rkatsiteli. To be honest, I can’t remember if it tasted good or bad (vague memory was that we concluded it wasn’t great, but I could be wrong). In any case, it was pricey at £9.10 a glass, not sure it’s worth it.

Score: 7.5/10
Price: £87.85 (for three people)
Address: 294-296 Caledonian Rd, London N1 1BA
I had a friend called Georgia once. Curiously I would rate them 7.5/10 too. I’ve also heard that no one gets lost in the country of Georgia. Mainly because Tbilisi always shows them the way to be-lisi. Anyway, another cracking read. Over, Nigel
